New Measures Implemented At S3 Dental

As part of the governments rules on social distancing in public spaces we have implemented new protocols to ensure our patients and clinical team remain safe throughout their journey at S3 Dental.

The success of these measures will only be achieved when we reach a successful partnership between the S3 Dental Team and patients.

WAITING ROOM CLOSED CURRENTLY

During a Level 3 COVID status we have closed our waiting room to reduce the number of people in the building and the risk of COVID-19 transmission between patients and non clinical staff.

When you attend for your dental appointment at this stage, we will ask you to attend alone, unless you require a carer or a guardian for a child, who has an appointment. Please do not attend early for your apointment, especially when the weather is unfavourable. Please also avoid knocking repeatedly on the door and wait patiently at the reception window if you have trouble checking in.

Fewer people in the building means the risk from aerosol transmission is reduced and less patient to patient contact within the building.

Some of our patients are vulnerable and have a higher susceptibility to COVID-19, so we need to take precautions to ensure we look after all those patients in our care.

Reduced Face To Face Contact

Our clinical teams are required to wear enhanced PPE and respirator masks due to the close proximity with patients during treatment. Our non clinical team are unable to wear such level of PPE because it makes their job difficult if not impossible.

The wearing of face masks and respirators makes speaking and answering phones difficult and we also highlight that our reception team are non clinical members, so need to be protected to carry out the vitally important roles they are performing.

They will initially not be allowed to perform face to face duties with patients and we ask patients to assist us with this and fill out all forms online prior to the appointment.

If you are having difficulty using the patient portal system then please notify us in advance, so that the reception team can assist you remotely over the phone.

Controlled Entry & Exit Points

To reduce patient contact and proximity, we ask patients to follow the instructions outside and inside the building.

Please follow the one way systems in place and and use hand sanitising stations and face masks where directed.

Please bring your own face mask, as whilst we are able to supply them, the use of disposable face masks increases our PPE costs and clinical waste.
